McHenry County Bicycle Advocates

Vulcan Lakes is situated such that it could provide a much needed bicycle and pedestrian link between Crystal Lake, the Prairie Trail, and Cary not only for residents of Crystal Lake but for residents of the surrounding communities.

Redevelopment plans have been approved by the Crystal Lake City Council and as of August 2009 construction has begun. Indications are that there will be a west side trail to Main Street and an east side trail to Pingree/Three Oaks.
